**STOP PRESS** We currently have an air compressor to fill cylinders, but it’s 30 years old and repairing it is becoming increasingly difficult. We are a friendly SCUBA diving club based at the Witham Leisure Centre, Spinks Lane, Witham, Essex meeting regularly on Thursday nights – this is an offical meeting on the first Thursday of each month, with more informal meetings on other Thursday’s starts at 8.00pm. Pools from 9.00pm. We are a British Sub Aqua Club branch so train using BSAC standards.
However, if you are already a diver with SAA; PADI; NAUI qualifications you are more than welcome to come and join us.
Our club has: –
Our own compressor and we are able to pump bottles for members (fills are included in your membership fee);
Access to a deep pool that goes down to 3.4 metres – great for honing and practicing your skills like SMB deployment and Controlled Buoyant lifts;
Branch equipment that can be hired by members;
Branch diving (and looking forward to doing more as our membership grows);
Regular social events;
Access to a great group of people who can share their experience and knowledge of equipment, dive destinations, etc.

Witham Scuba Club is a branch of the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) branch, so we carry out diver training in line with BSAC guidelines for our members over the age of 18. At the present time we do not train under that age, but if you contact us we’ll try to help you find someone who can undertake this. Our membership rates are available in the “Our Club” section of the website.
Anyone joining the branch will need to complete a Medical Declaration form. If you do answer yes to any of the questions then it will be necessary to refer to a diving medical referee. http://www.bsac.com/scubamedicalform

Experienced divers (PADI; SAA; and other agencies) or those wishing to polish up their current skills level are also very welcome to join our club where they will be able to make use of the clubs facilities at the centre and participate in both UK and overseas diving trips.

If you have always wanted to learn to dive or are simply curious about scuba diving, then a Try Dive with Witham Scuba Diving Club is the perfect introduction!
In the safe confines of the pool, a BSAC Instructor will introduce you to the basic skills and equipment needed to experience the thrill of breathing underwater for the very first time. Try Dives cost £25.
A typical Try Dive session lasts about 45 minutes. It involves poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment, followed by a scuba dive in our pool with a BSAC-qualified instructor.
